Trouble the Water (app. 60 min.)
Ruby Dee is the narrator of this documentary that tells the compelling

the Gullah fused Christian words learned in the galleries of white churches
with the rhythms of Africa, giving birth to spirituals – a blending of
languages, folkways, lore, music and beliefs of three continents to fit their
needs in the sea islands giving birth to the Gullah Culture.
